Reminders from Mr. Hesler

Reminders from Mr. Hesler

As we start out our second semester, I wanted to remind parents and students of a few things. This is the last semester for our seniors and some of you only have a few semesters after this.

Be sure you have your information updated in Skyward (address and phone number). We never know what kind of winter weather Indiana will hold for us.  Also, it is very important that you have emergency contacts listed for your student in the event that you cannot be reached in an emergency.

Attendance wise, if you do not have a call placed by 8:00 am following your absence, it is considered truant and a Wednesday School will be assigned. If you are more than 15 minutes late, a Wednesday school will be assigned. Also, to those students who have reached their max allotted absences, if you are on the 11 day attendance letter, you must provide a doctor’s excuse if you have any more absences.

Having a job and a work permit is a privilege. Your grades and academics come first. We here at GHS can pull your work permit at any time for poor effort and grades.

To those participating in athletics, it is also a privilege. You are held to a high expectation at GHS to do well with academics as well as being role models.
