Hello.  My name is Doug Hudson and I have the pleasure of being the instructor at GCSC Alternative Education and also teach a College Readiness Class at GHS.  I truly enjoy watching our students grow academically throughout the year and encourage you to contact me if you have questions or would simply like to come and observe our program.  The more you as a parent are involved, the more meaningful will be your son/daughter’s educational experience.

As far as I am concerned, my road to education has many twists and turns.  I spent 25 years in industry before returning to school and acquiring my teaching license.  I have been teaching in the Greencastle Community School Corporation for 15 years and foresee remaining for many more.  I spent three years as an instructor at the Montgomery Out of School Suspension Program in Crawfordsville, 5 years at Putnam County Alternative Education, and in 2011 we moved our program to Greencastle High School as PCAE was dissolved.  I am currently the boys’ basketball academic advisor and also act as “The Voice of the Tiger Cubs” for home football and basketball games.

I have been married to my wonderful wife Shannon for 27 years and we reside in Crawfordsville with 3 dogs and one cat.  We have two older daughters:  Cari – who is in the communications field and lives in Brownsburg, IN., and Brooke who is married and still lives in Crawfordsville with her husband Brandon.  They have blessed us with four wonderful granddaughters who are truly a joy to spoil!! We also have a son, Tyler, who recently graduated with his Masters in Athletic Training from Manchester University and is currently the head Athletic Trainer at North Miami High School.  I enjoy any and all sports, like to fish, and have recently started to bicycle.

I love being a part of this school environment and being able to mentor your child.  It is my goal to mentor the “whole child” and will always do my best to provide a quality education for your son or daughter.
