ACT & SAT Information

We suggest students begin taking the SAT and/or ACT by winter of the junior year. Sophomores in Honors Algebra II should take the tests in June following the class. Greencastle High School offers the SAT in October and June and the ACT in September and April. It is highly recommended for students to take both tests, then re-take the test they did best on during fall of their senior year.

Some colleges and universities will combine the best SAT scores from each test, which not only assists with admissions, but also makes a student eligible for more scholarships! When talking to colleges ask if they are using all three scores (out of 2400) for scholarships, or just the Critical Reading and Math (out of 1600).

*The SAT will be changing beginning with the April 2016 test. The PSAT will be different starting October 2015.

Don't forget to take your ID & Admission Ticket with you! Without these you will NOT be permitted to take the test! Your picture must be uploaded to the test site, be sure to follow instructions. If you have problems with your registration stop by Guidance for assistance.
